Interfaith in Action in Nigeria
As part of the project entitled “Interfaith in Action” funded by the Templeton Religion Trust, our partner Dar al Andalus Center (DAAC) organized a second two-day workshop in Abuja from 22nd to 23rd of March 2023 gathering 15 representatives of religious organizations. This project aims at reducing interreligious tensions and promoting social cohesion in Burkina Faso and Nigeria, brings together participants from different religious backgrounds and allows them to set up collective micro-projects with a social and humanitarian scope. Based on CPI’s “Diapraxis” methodology, the workshop was intended to support participants in identifying the social and humanitarian needs of their communities in order to develop initiatives to be implemented jointly in the coming months. The three micro-projects selected by the group are: 1) a Radio Talk Show in Abuja promoting interreligious relations between Christians and Muslims; 2) Awareness-raising and advocacy sessions with women and influential actors in Abuja and Niger State; and 3) Creation of a youth-led early warning rapid response mechanism to prevent interreligious violence. These actions will be carried out by mid-July 2023.
كجزء من المشروع المعنون “الحوار بين أتباع الأديان عبر الممارسة” المدعوم من طرف “صندوق تمبلتون للدين”، نظم شريك المعهد، “مركز دار الأندلس” ورشة عمل ثانية لمدة يومين في أبوجا من 22 إلى 23 مارس 2023 جمعت 15 ممثلًا عن المنظمات الدينية. يهدف هذا المشروع إلى الحد من التوترات بين الأديان وتعزيز التماسك المجتمعي في بوركينا فاسو ونيجيريا، ويجمع مشاركين من خلفيات دينية مختلفة ويسمح لهم بإنشاء مشاريع صغيرة جماعية ذات طابع اجتماعي وإنساني. واستنادًا إلى منهجية الحوار عبر الممارسة، كان الهدف من ورشة العمل هو دعم المشاركين في تحديد الاحتياجات الاجتماعية والإنسانية لمجتمعاتهم من أجل تطوير مبادرات يتم تنفيذها بشكل مشترك في الأشهر المقبلة. المشاريع الصغيرة الثلاثة التي اختارتها المجموعة هي: 1) برنامج حواري إذاعي في أبوجا لتعزيز العلاقات بين الأديان بين المسيحيين والمسلمين. 2) جلسات توعية ومناصرة مع النساء والفاعلين المؤثرين في ولايتي أبوجا والنيجر؛ 3) إنشاء آلية للإنذار المبكر للاستجابة السريعة بقيادة الشباب للوقاية من العنف بين الأديان. وسيتمّ تنفيذ هذه الفعاليات بحلول منتصف يوليو 2023.
Dans le cadre du projet intitulé « Interreligieux en action » financé par la Fondation Templeton, notre partenaire Dar al Andalus Center (DAAC) a organisé un second atelier à Abuja de deux jours du 22 au 23 mars réunissant 15 représentants d’organisations religieuses. Ce projet visant la réduction des tensions interreligieuses et la promotion de la cohésion sociale au Burkina Faso et au Nigeria, rassemble des participants d’horizons religieux divers et leurs permet de mettre en place des micro-projets collectifs à portée sociale et humanitaire. Sur la base de la méthodologie de « diapraxis », cet atelier était destiné à accompagner les participants à identifier les besoins sociaux et humanitaires de leurs communautés afin de développer des initiatives à implémenter conjointement dans les prochains mois. Les trois micro-projets retenus par le groupe sont les suivantes : 1) Table ronde radiophonique à Abuja promouvant les relations interreligieuses entre Chrétiens et Musulmans ; 2) Séances de sensibilisation et de plaidoyer auprès des femmes et des acteurs influents à Abuja et dans l’état du Niger ; et 3) Création un mécanisme d’alerte précoce et réponse rapide porté par les jeunes pour prévenir les violences interreligieuses. Ces actions seront menées d’ici la mi-juillet 2023.
