Topic:

This course introduces the theory and practical applications of Early Warning Rapid Response mechanisms as an inclusive and participative conflict transformation and violence prevention methodology. It introduces the different stages, possibilities and challenges EWRR mechanisms, with reference to case studies. The course also develops practical skills in culturally-sensitive programming using real-world cases from the MENA, Sahel and other regions.

Outcomes:

The aim of this training course is to equip participants with:
• Foundational knowledge of EWRR theory and stages of implementation;
• Practical understanding of EWRR possibilities and challenges;
• Applied knowledge and practical ideas for culturally-sensitive programming.

Participants:

Researchers and/or professionals who are interested in conflict transformation and related areas, who wish to expand their knowledge and skills in theoretical and practical approaches to inclusive and participative approaches to conflict transformation and violence prevention.

Methodology:

This training course includes expert input, self-study, role plays, group-work, group discussions and practitioner Q&A.
