Justice for the Survivors of Turkmen Children and Women
A meeting was held on 15 September 2023 at the Cordoba Cultural Café in Tal Afar to discuss the provisions of Law No. 8 of 2021, the Yazidi Women Survivors Law, which require necessary amendments. These amendments are essential to ensure justice for all segments of Iraqi society who have been subjected to abduction and aggression by IS, especially the Tal Afari Turkmen women survivors of Tal Afar, as the current law doesn’t include them. The meeting was attended by relevant government authorities, representatives of local organisations, volunteer groups, activists, journalists (including news teams from the Iraqi and Turkmen TV channels) and human rights defenders.
