The Role of Religious Actors, Women and Youth in Peacebuilding in the Sahel

CPI co-facilitated a high-level Roundtable on “The Role of Religious Actors, Women and Youth in Peacebuilding in the Sahel”, held in Dakar from 21–23 May 2024 and organised by the Network for Religious and Traditional Peacemakers and the Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The event brought together 25 participants from Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.

On 14 November 2024, CPI facilitated an online Sahel meeting at the invitation of the Network of Religious and Traditional Peacemakers. The meeting enabled strategic exchanges on regional developments, follow-up to the Dakar Roundtable, and future collaboration. The Finnish Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared positive feedback and presented a 2025 project proposal focused on strengthening local peacebuilding capacities in the Sahel.
