International Youth Festival

On the 13th of August, the Ministry of Youth and Sports invited the CPI Iraq team to participate in the International Youth Festival on the occasion of the International Youth Day at the University of Mosul, organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and UNICEF. It was an opportunity for 65 young people from Talafar to meet with young people from Mosul and other cities. The festival had an impact on the young people, as it was the first time they had been formally invited by the Iraqi government to participate in such an event. CPI was able to provide a safe space between the Talafari youth and the authorities to find a common line of cooperation for the future. It also helped to identify needs, particularly in an area where social divisions are deep and where there is a need to work on the sustainable reintegration of returnees.
