Interfaith in Action in Nigeria

As part of the project supported by the Templeton Religion Trust (TRT) to help reduce interfaith tensions and promote social cohesion in Burkina Faso and Nigeria, CPI undertook with its local partner, “Dar Al Andalus Centre” (DAAC) in Nigeria, the mapping of the relevant actor to associate in the project, and a list was established based on a set of criteria. CPI organized a three days workshop to train participants in conflict transformation, social cohesion and religious perspectives on peacebuilding, and to share experiences. The workshop was held in Abuja between November 28 and December 1, 2022. John Azumah from the “Sanneh Institute” gave a presentation remotely on the Christian perspective of peacebuilding, while Nuruddeen Lemu from the “Development Initiative of West Africa” (DIWA) presented the Islamic perspective.
