Reintegration Through Football in Tal Afar
During the World Youth Day celebrations, Cordoba Peace Institute – Geneva (CPI) and the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports highlighted the marginalisation of the youth of Tal Afar. CPI emphasised the importance of sport as a means of promoting community cohesion and reintegration among the youth of the city, districts and villages of Tal Afar. That’s why CPI sought to revive the Tal Afar Youth Academy football team, founded in 2019, by providing moral and financial support to the team. The team won a tournament in which seventy academies from Nineveh Governorate participated. The final match, held on 21 March 2023 at the Martyrs Stadium in Tal Afar, attracted thousands of fans. The Tal Afar Youth Academy football team won the final match and secured the championship title. This helped to reduce the marginalisation of the youth of Tal Afar.
خلال الاحتفالات بيوم الشباب العالمي، سلط معهد قرطبة للسلام بجنيف ووزارة الشباب والرياضة العراقية الضوء على تهميش شباب تلعفر. وشدد المعهد على أهمية الرياضة كوسيلة لتعزيز التماسك المجتمعي وإعادة الاندماج بين شباب مدينة تلعفر وأقضية وقرى تلعفر. لهذا السبب سعى المعهد إلى إحياء فريق كرة القدم التابع لأكاديمية تلعفر للشباب، الذي تأسس في عام 2019، من خلال تقديم الدعم المعنوي والمالي للفريق. وحقق الفريق بطولة شارك فيها سبعون أكاديمية من محافظة نينوى. استقطبت المباراة النهائية التي أقيمت يوم 21 مارس 2023 على ملعب الشهداء في تلعفر آلاف المشجعين. وفاز فريق أكاديمية تلعفر للشباب لكرة القدم بالمباراة النهائية وحصل على لقب البطولة. وقد ساعد ذلك في الحد من تهميش شباب تلعفر.
Lors des célébrations de la Journée mondiale de la jeunesse, Cordoba Peace Institute – Geneva (CPI) et le ministère irakien de la Jeunesse et des Sports ont souligné la marginalisation des jeunes de Tal Afar. CPI a souligné l’importance du sport comme moyen de promouvoir la cohésion communautaire et la réintégration des jeunes de la ville, des districts et des villages de Tal Afar. C’est pourquoi CPI a cherché à relancer l’équipe de football de la Tal Afar Youth Academy, fondée en 2019, en lui apportant un soutien moral et financier. L’équipe a remporté un tournoi auquel soixante-dix académies du gouvernorat de Ninive ont participé. Le match final, qui s’est tenu le 21 mars 2023 au stade des Martyrs de Tal Afar, a attiré des milliers de supporters. L’équipe de football de la Tal Afar Youth Academy a remporté le match final et s’est assuré le titre de championne. Cela a contribué à réduire la marginalisation des jeunes de Tal Afar.
