An Evening of Poetry in Tal Afar

On 27 September, the Cordoba Cultural Café and the Tal Afar Youth Forum hosted a special evening of poetry and art attended by elders, dignitaries, intellectuals and representatives of local organisations, as well as young people from different communities in the Tal Afar district. The event included the screening of a film about Tal Afar and an exhibition of photographs depicting Turkmen culture in the city of Tal Afar.

A poetic segment on Turkmen regions was presented by poet Hassan Murad, who is also a media personality. There was also a musical performance of a traditional Turkmen song representing Turkmen culture by the singer and artist Yahya Ajam.

This event is part of a series of CPI-supported activities in Tal Afar aimed at strengthening social cohesion in Tal Afar by bringing together communities that share cultural and heritage similarities, as well as common customs.
