It was once again an intense year for the CFG, which was able to push forward its projects in Lebanon, Iraq, Nigeria, Mali, Morocco, and Tunisia. During the year, we also developed our training offer that we deliver in English, French, and Arabic with a methodology adapted to the culture of the regions where we work. Drawing on our unique experience in conflict transformation in North Africa, the Sahel and the Middle East, we have enabled a number of our participants to benefit from these highly successful trainings. When we asked these activists how their participation in our workshops had changed their awareness about conflict and peace promotion, this is what they said: <a href=\"en\/activities-mega\/ongoing-programmes\/north-africa\/morocco\/823\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/cordoue.ch\/en\/activities-mega\/ongoing-programmes\/north-africa\/morocco\/823<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Switzerland &#8211; <\/strong><em>The CFG organised on 8 November 2018 a training for teachers with the Geneva Department of Public Instruction on &ldquo;Concepts, tools and approaches to conflict transformation&rdquo;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Switzerland<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Contribution to the module &ldquo;Conflict Transformation and the Role of Religion&rdquo; of the Postgraduate Program in Religion &amp; Conflict organized by Swisspeace. The CFG presented its on-going project in Samarra, Iraq as a case study. 9-10 November in Basel, Switzerland.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Mali<\/strong> &#8211; <em>The CFG carried out two exploratory missions in Mali as part of its program to strengthen social cohesion in the country. The first mission to Bamako took place from 23 to 27 October 2018 and the second one from 10 to 16 November 2018. During the last mission, a capacity-building workshop for members of the Association of Quranic Masters and Teachers of Mali (AMECO) was organized and attracted 50 participants.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Nigeria<\/strong> &#8211; <em>The CFG participated in the first international conference on the theme &ldquo;Insurgency and the Phenomenon of Boko Haram in Nigeria&rdquo;, organised by the Centre for Islamic Civilization and Interfaith Dialogue at Bayero State University in collaboration with the International Institute for Islamic Thought and the Kano State Government. Papers were presented and debated by a wide and varied panel of local and international experts, covering the themes: History, Ideology and Methodology; Impact, Coverage and Documentation; and Responses, Counter-Insurgency, Deradicalization and Rehabilitation. 13-15 November in Kano, Nigeria<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Iraq<\/strong> &#8211; <em>The CFG carried out its second exploratory mission in Iraq, with visits to Baghdad and Samarra, on 18-24 November.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Iraq<\/strong> &#8211; <em>Participation of the CFG in a conference on &ldquo;Trustbuilding in Iraq: Current Challenges and Opportunities&rdquo; organized by PRIO in collaboration with the Kalima Center for Dialogue and Cooperation, and the Center for the Study of Islam and the Middle East on 8-10 December in Istanbul, Turkey.
